The following Contest is intended for U.S. Citizens or lawful permanent residents of the U.S. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age, live in the state of Florida or be enrolled in a Florida college or university. (Please see Submission Requirements in #3 below.)

2. How to Enter: CL Visions: Creative Loafing Photo Contest (the "Contest") begins January 24, 2013, at 12 noon and ends February 28, 2013 (the "Contest Period") at 5 p.m. Participants must visit www.cltampa.com/visions (the "Website") and complete the online entry form as instructed (limit three (3) online entries, per valid email address, per eligible person) and the Submission (as defined below). All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on February 28, 2013 to be eligible. Each entry must include entrant's ("Entrant") full name, age, address, phone number (including area code), and e-mail address, and the $5 entry fee. CL will not verify receipt of entries. If more than three entries are received, only the first three entries will be accepted and additional entries will be disqualified. Any attempt by any Entrant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that participant's entry, and that Entrant may be disqualified. Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome to participate.
3. Contest Theme: Local Focus on the faces and places, the telling details and the big pictures in the Tampa Bay area. Local colors, flavors, heroes, legends. Local artists, shops, scandals, headlines. Local lights, lingo, flora, fauna. Or none of the above: Just take a picture that says what “local” means to you. Judges will look for compositional and technical excellence; distinctiveness of vision; and the originality and relevance of your interpretation of the theme.
4. Submission Requirements: A Submission for the Contest must consist of a completed contest entry form, one (1) photo that has been uploaded, and a $5 entry fee. Submissions will be taken from January 24, 2013 at noon through February 28, 2013, at 5 p.m. Please name the photographs with your first and last name and number of photograph submitted – Example: ElizabethJones_1.jpg, ElizabethJones_2.jpg, etc. The photograph should in some way relate to the Contest Theme (as defined above).
Submissions that are not original work of the Entrant and/or illegible or incomplete application forms will not be accepted. Your submission of the photo and the entry form is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo. Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines, newspapers or books, or have been used as artwork for CD covers, advertisements, or other publicity purposes are not eligible. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright are not eligible.
CL reserves the right to reject any Submissions that it deems, in its sole discretion, to violate any of the policies of CL's customary standards and practices. CL retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content.
Digital photographs should be formatted to 300 dpi, at least 5x7 inches, and should not exceed 2MBs. Photographs must be in a .jpeg or .jpg format. CL reserves the right to disqualify Entrants who are unable to submit, upon request, a high-resolution photograph of at least 300 dpi at 5 x 7 inches or an original photo negative, print, or slide. Entrants must also be prepared to provide a version of each photo that measures 1900px wide or tall on its shorter side.

Not Permitted:
- No borders or frames may be added to images.
- No watermarks, signatures, or copyright notices may be added to images. All winning images will be displayed with the photographer's name.
- Adding or replacing elements in an image is not permitted.
- Artistic filters are permitted, but are discouraged.
Permitted:
- Images must be either rectangular or square.
- Red-eye removal and spot editing
- One-step enhancement (such as "AutoFix", "QuickFix", "Auto Levels", etc.)
- Use of filters to sharpen, soften, blur, despeckle, or remove noise.
- Use of corrective functions to improve the natural appearance of the image, such as levels, contrast, brightness, curves, intensity, tone, hue, saturation, lightness, value, color balance, and tint.
- Converting of images to black and white or sepia
Completed Submissions that are created and received within the above-mentioned guidelines shall collectively be referred to herein as the "Eligible Entries.” All Submissions become the property of CL and will not be returned.
5. Eligibility: To enter the Contest you must be at least 18 years of age as of February 28, 2013, and be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S., live in the state of Florida or be enrolled in a Florida college or university. Contest is void where restricted or prohibited by law. Registration on the website is not required to enter the Contest, but if you do register, you may be asked to consent to receive promotional e-mails and reminders for upcoming CL promotions and information about CL. Consenting to receive such e-mails is optional and does not have to be agreed to in order to be eligible to enter the Contest, and does not increase your chances of winning the Contest. The Contest is not open to CL, employees or independent contractors who have previously had work published by CL, or to members of their households and/or immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, children and each of their respective spouses) of CL, participating affiliates, participating retailers, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and their advertising and promotion agencies (collectively, the "Contest Entities"). The Contest is governed by U.S. law and is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
6. Winning/Notification: Judging will be conducted by a panel of photography professionals and CL staffers who will select 10 Finalists and a Grand Prize winner. Finalists will be notified the week of Mar. 18. Online voting at cltampa.com/visions will open on February 20 and continue through February 28, 2013 for readers to select the Reader’s Choice Winner. The top ten finalists as selected by the judges’ panel and the top three as voted on by the readers will be published in the CL Photo Issue in print and online on Mar. 21, and exhibited at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts beginning on Mar. 21. The winners of the Grand Prize and Readers’ Choice will be announced at the opening reception of the FMOPA show on Mar. 21. If Entrant is selected as the Grand Prize Winner and/or the Reader’s Choice Winner, entrant will be required to execute a Hold Harmless Agreement (see #11 below) when collecting prizes or such winner will be disqualified.
7. Prize Details:
One (1) Reader’s Choice Prize: $300
One (1) Grand Prize: $300
It is the responsibility of the Reader’s Choice Winner and Grand Prize Winner to collect the prizes. CL is not responsible for the collection and/or the fulfillment of the prizes. All expenses, costs, taxes, and fees associated with any element of the Submission are the sole responsibility of the Reader’s Choice Winner and the Grand Prize Winner. CL reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the Reader’s Choice Prize and/or the Grand Prize listed above cannot be awarded as described for any reason. The Reader’s Choice and/or the Grand Prize or portions thereof cannot be transferred, substituted, or redeemed for cash except at CL's sole discretion.
8. Prize Conditions: If a potential winner is found to be ineligible, or if a potential winner fails to complete the requested Hold Harmless Agreement upon collection or the Prizes, his/her prize will be forfeited. Except where prohibited by law, a potential winner's entry and acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for the Contest Entities to use said potential winner's name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, and city and state address on a worldwide basis, and in all forms of media, in perpetuity, without further compensation.
9. Contest Conditions: By entering the Contest, Entrants grant CL a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the Submission, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed for any CL purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of its magazine and its website, exhibition and commercial products, including but not limited to CL publications. Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit. CL will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses. By entering the Contest, photographers agree to have their Submission displayed on the website without any fee or other form of compensation, and agree that CL may display winning photos in a “Past Winners” photo gallery, and may make or retain copies of the photograph for archival purposes. Entries void if forged or if obtained/submitted outside authorized channels. By participating, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of CL, which shall be final, and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest or these Official Rules. Winner and Entrants also agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Contest Entities and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from and against any claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any Contest-related activity or participation in this Contest. This Contest is subject to all applicable Federal and Municipal laws and all State and local regulations. This offer is void where prohibited and/or restricted by law.
10. Limitations of Liability: The Contest Entities and/or their parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, representatives, successors and any and all Internet servers and access provider(s) are not responsible for: any incorrect or inaccurate entry information or voting; human error; technical malfunctions; failures, omission, interruption, deletion, or defect of any telephone network, computer online systems, computer equipment, server providers, or software, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Contest; inability to access the Website; theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; transactions that are processed late or incorrectly or are incomplete or lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site; printing or human or other errors; and any entries which are late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, stolen, mutilated, illegible or postage due, or any combination thereof. Proof of mailing, in person submission, or online submission is not considered proof of delivery or receipt. CL may prohibit an Entrant from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said Entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or any other unfair playing practices (including the use of automated quick entry programs) or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other Entrants or CL representatives. If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of CL which corrupt in any way or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, fulfillment or proper conduct of the promotion, then CL reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and select a winner by randomly drawing from those entries received up to the cancellation/suspension date. In the event CL chooses to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest or portion(s) thereof, Entrants may be disqualified without any further obligation of CL. Submissions and/or Eligible Entries that have been tampered with or altered are void. CL's decisions with respect to all matters pertaining to the Contest shall be final.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
11. Hold Harmless and Image Release: In consideration of the opportunity to participate in the Contest, I voluntarily acknowledge and agree to the following:
Participation in the above-described Contest may involve physical activity, which may expose me to the risk of personal injury or property damage. I am voluntarily participating in this activity and agree to assume all risks arising from my participation in the Contest regardless of how they might arise.
I agree for myself, my heirs and assigns, executors and administrators to waive and release CL and/or their parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, representatives, successors (“Released Parties”) from any and all losses, causes of action, liabilities, expenses and/or claims for damages (collectively “Claims”) I may have that might arise directly or indirectly from participation in connection with the Contest and/or the condition of the property, facilities or equipment used for the Contest, regardless of when such Claim may arise including, without limitation, Claims relating to (i) any theft, loss or disappearance of property, (ii) bodily injury (fatal or non-fatal), and (iii) property damage, in each case unless such Claim is caused solely by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of one or more Released Parties.
I grant permission for CL to use my name, likeness, voice, relevant biographical information and any other indicia of my identity in connection with the Contest, and publicity, advertising, and promotion for the Contest and other contests in all forms of media throughout the world in perpetuity without remuneration.
This waiver and release will be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. Any provisions found to be void or unenforceable shall be modified or deleted to the minimum extent necessary to make them enforceable, and shall not affect the enforceability of any other provisions.
I have read this Hold Harmless Agreement and Image Release, I fully understand its terms, and I recognize that I have given up rights by participating in the Contest. I enter the Contest voluntarily and without any inducement or duress.
You must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Nashville Scene cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.
Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified. Any suspicious voting activity will be reviewed and qualification of the user and their votes wil be considered before prizes are awarded.
Creative Loafing Tampa reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
Employees of Creative Loafing Tampa and independent contractors who have had their work published by CL, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant to Creative Loafing Tampa the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
Creative Loafing Tampa reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, and/or Creative Loafing Tampa. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM and Creative Loafing Tampa are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
Creative Loafing Tampa reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
